1st annual Barks-N-Brews festival happening Saturday

The Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society will hold its first annual Barks-N-Brews fundraising event on Saturday, June 16.

The family friendly festival serves as one of the two major fundraising opportunities for the Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society, where proceeds will help support spay and neuter efforts and the establishment of the spay and neuter clinic at Starlight Ranch.

Barks-N-Brews will feature a variety of events and music, including craft beer sampling, where participants will receive a complimentary sampling glass and test out a variety of craft beers. Ticket holders will also receive a Big Texan's Half-Pound Burger with all trimmings and fries. Children 12 and under will receive hot dogs. There will also be a fully stocked cash bar for those wanting something other than beer to drink.

Those in attendance who purchase a Ruff Tough Kennel will have their ticket price credited to the purchase of the kennel.

Live music will also be taking place throughout the night, where three local bands will perform starting at 7:30 p.m. After, Jack Ingram and Jonathan Tyler will take the stage.

The times for all events are as follows:

  • Craft Beer Sampling: 7- 9:30 p.m.
  • Cash Bar: 7 - 11 p.m.
  • Local bands open show at 7:30 p.m.
  • Jonathan Tyler: 9:30 p.m.
  • Jack Ingram: 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are $43 for adults and $8 for children ages 12 and under. Street Auto Group will also be offering a $10 discount. Those interested can stop by either Street Toyota or Street Volkswagen of Amarillo to pick up a $33 ticket form. To get in, attendees will just need to bring the form along with $33 for each ticket. Admission will go up to $49 at the door.

The gates will open at 6:30 p.m. No outside food or beverage is permitted and only service dogs with proper paperwork will be allowed. The Starlight Ranch Event Center is located at 1415 Sunrise Drive in Amarillo.
