160 lbs. of marijuana seized on I-40

A DPS Trooper conducted a traffic stop on I-40 on April 9 that yielded 160 lbs. of marijuana allegedly being transported to Georgia.

A traffic stop on April 9 yielded 160 pounds of marijuana, valued at more than $711,000.

Near Bushland in Potter County, at approximately 10 a.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Toyota Camry that was traveling eastbound on I-40.

The driver of the Camry was identified as Grayson Lee Jones, 23, of Rome, Ga. During the traffic stop, the Trooper discovered 150 bundles of marijuana in the trunk.

Jones was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into Potter County Jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from San Francisco to Georgia.
