Dania Esparza's condition is now listed as improving, police said Wednesday morning.
Police are searching for the vehicle responsible for the hit-and-run that left a 10-year-old girl in life-threatening condition Monday evening.
It was just before 7:30 p.m. Monday when officers responded to the area of East 8th Avenue and South Pittsburgh Street. Police said a 10-year-old girl
, now identified as Dania Esparza,
had been struck by a car at the intersection.
The car that struck the girl fled north on Pittsburgh Street, police said. It's described as a four-door sedan, red in color.
Police said the car may have faded red paint and possibly peeling paint on the roof.
