Championship Dagwood

What a GREAT sandwich for Opening Day, NCAA FINAL FOUR Championship or while Enjoying the Masters golf tournament! Either way YOU and your friends or family are ballers eating this amazing sandwich!

  • 1 ea bread loaf, 8” to 12” long
  • ¼ lb roast beef, medium, shaved thin
  • ¼ lb pastrami, shaved thin
  • ½ lb smoked turkey, shaved thin
  • 4 slices jalapeno bacon, cooked
  • 4 slices smoked gouda cheese
  • 4 slices swiss cheese
  • 1 Tblspn mayonnaise
  • ½ Tblspn horseradish
  • ½ Tblspn Dijon Mustard
  • ½ Tblspn Miracle Whip
  • 6 ea thin slices of red onion
  • ½ Tblspn butter

Preheat saute pan or grill to medium high

Slice the loaf in half the long way. Pull out the middle bread on both pieces, forming sort of a canoe on both slices. Butter both pieces and grill on grill or saute pan.

While bread is grilling, combine horseradish and mayonnaise, mix well.

On the bottom slice place two slices of swiss cheese, top that with the thin sliced roast beef.

Top the roast beef with the horseradish sauce.

Top that with two slices of smoked gouda cheese. Place the pastrami on top of the cheese.

Spread Dijon mustard on the top of the pastrami.

Top with two more slices of smoked gouda cheese and pile bacon on top of the cheese.

Next add the shaved smoked turkey and top with two slices of swiss cheese. Spread Miracle whip on the top piece of bread and top the sandwich.

If you have a panini press, press the sandwich. If not, place the sandwich in a saute pan over medium heat. Place another saute pan on top of the sandwich and weigh down for 1-3 minutes with a heavy can. Flip over and repeat, until cheese melts.
